Pearl Care
-
No special care other than love and kindness
Pearls are a natural treasure! They love water and daily wear. Overtime you may see the pearls slightly change shape or luster as they embark on their journey with you.
-
Store in a cool, dry place
Harsh chemicals can expedite dulling of the gold color (perfumes, sunscreens and lotions)
Clean with water and a soft cloth to remove dirt and oils
Okay to shower in
Important to clean off after pool and beach as the salt and chlorine can expedite tarnishing.
Gold filled chain & metals are durable, dense and tarnish resistant. Gold filled metals have an outer layer of gold deposited onto a base metal. The gold must weigh 5% of the base metal weight in order to fall into this category. These metals are an excellent alternative to solid gold. Keep these pieces clean to prolong jewelry life. Gold filled is not tarnish proof. All items require proper care to ensure long lasting shine.
-
Remove before showering, swimming or sweating to maintain gold coloring
Do not apply perfumes, lotions, or sunscreen directly on the metal
Gold plated jewelry has a thin layer of gold deposited onto a base metal. This layer is thinner than that of gold filled and should be worn with caution while showering, swimming, and with daily activities. Gold plated necklaces and bracelets can easily lose their plated gold layer. However, gold plated earrings keep their gold plating with everyday wear when cared for correctly.
